GE
TFX25CRBCAA Refrigerator
I just discovered my water tank is leaking at the seam this evening. I also found the replacement part pretty easily:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/part_details.aspx?part_id=2066390(I love this website - thank you thank you thank you)
I'm hoping someone here can give me some idea of how the tank is replaced. I see where the tank hoses go to in the back/bottom of the unit. One hose goes back to the value assembly... the other goes to the front and up to the dispenser.
The hose that come up to the front connects to another hose before going up to the water dispenser - easy enough to disconnect there... appears to be nylon compression fittings. I assume I can reuse that fitting if the replacement part does come with one.
But I don't know how I would disconnect the other hose that connect to the valve assembly. I suppose when I unmount the valve assemble and get a better look at the fittings, I might be able to figure out how those fittings work.
BUT... even if I get the hose disconnected from the valve assembly, how do I get it off?? What I mean is, the hose runs under the "pan" and seems to be between the pan and the frame of the fridge. If the end of the hose has some fitting (of larger O.D. than the hose itself), then I don't think I'll be able to thread the hose through the pan and frame. You know what I mean?
Thanks in advance for any tips and feedback.
