So, what are the plastic shavings?
Does it require any special tools to replace whatever it is?
I would have assumed that my slow spin was related to needing a new belt as it's over 20 years old and has never been replaced. But, the plastic shavings had me concerned and I really didn't see any place that looked glazed or stretched on the belt. So I wanted to see what the plastic shavings were before I decided if I was going to try and fix this one or buy a new one. This washer has been pretty dependable as I've only had to replace a timer and lid switch on it and I can live with that in 20+ years.
