well i done some stuff really really backwards and cost myself some extra money but that said this is what all i bought,
i ordered first the heating element which was part number
8573069mine was definately burnt up and the springs were all apart in many pieces.
when that came it didnt fix it so i thought that it must need the thermostat that goes at the bottom where the heating element goes into the housing which was part number
8566498 at the time i thought that was the only thermostat and i ordered it but when it came that didnt fix it either so i started looking harder on line and found this website and soon found it had three more thermostats or thermal fuses and they might or might not be bad. at the time i had no continuity tester so i order all three. part numbers as follows:
3977393 which i could not find as a stand alone part and i could only find a kit which is part number
279816. it had the above mentioned thermostat in it (with a different part number as you will see why in a moment, 3390291 was the part numer on it) as well as the one i just mentioned 3977393. after it arrived i then realized that it had a jumper wire set to make it the right thermostat i ordered above but it initially looks different so i never realized that just this one kit would fix two problems for the price of one. then i ordered part number
8577274 and
3392519 if only the websites had mentioned that the kit replaced two different fuses and could be converted to make the one into the other one it would have saved me about 25.00 bucks. however if id had that tester i could have saved even more.
i hope that this all makes sense to everyone reading it.
