Most appliance boards are aren't produced in japan. So I wouldn't expect any effect on this industry.

What about some of the chips used on them boards. I heard a lot of chips used in all electronics come from manufactures in Japan.

South Korea and China are the main suppliers these days. Now if the Korean peninsula went to war we'd have issues.
