LG Front Loader Gasket Question

Question on gasket replacement on a LG WM1832CW front loader.  I used the specified LG tools to disassemble both clamp assemblies and removed the old moldy Gasket.  My problem is in installing the new gasket.  Do I have to remove the front of the washer to reinstall the rear clamp it seems almost impossible to do otherwise?  Also, while the new gasket looks the exact same size as the old one it seems too big to fit on the outer opening of the washer (I tried just for fit and it bunches up at the bottom seeming too big).  Is there a trick to getting this gasket to reinstall properly?  The service manual is not much help, it does not even show the use of the clamp removers.

Removing the front is not a big deal on this washer.  On washers without removable fronts I'll tilt it back against the wall.  This will pull the tub away from the front and give a lot more room to work.  That is unless there's a dryer stacked on top, of course.
