LG Frige Problem

Hello, I have a LG LFC25760SW french door fridge and when I close the doors the lights will not go off.  It got so hot it started melting the cover.  Any Ideals?

Must be a bad light switch maybe or something in the door is preventing the button from going in.

Check the door switch plunger on the right and left at the top of the door hinge...the light should time out in 7 minutes.. so you may have a problem with the control board...

the plungers seem to work the door alarm goes on when the door is open but not when it is shut does the board in the top control the lights or is there another board

It is a bad Control Board.  The light relays are sticking.  Also replace the light sockets.  The new sockets have a thermal limit to prevent overheating.

Call LG, they have been covering a lot of this repair...  Exactly like tgoods said....

I just ran into my first one with this problem.  I'm having the customer call LG.  Is LG covering the whole repair or just the parts?

LG will cover the repairs parts and labor.  You need to call an authorized LG servicer to handle it.  The service code is RD for this problem.  If you don't know of an authorized servicer in your area, call LG.  800 243 0000 or go to   http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair/support-repair-provider-lookup.jsp

You should replace the control board, the socket assembly, the lamp cover and lens cover.  Those are usually the parts that will need replacing to correct the problem.
