GE Oven Undercooking

Hi,

I have a GE oven, model #  JBS55DM2WW, about 2 years old and the oven does not get hot enough. The actual temperature is 100 degrees below what is selected. The temp sensor tests at 1100 ohms; I even replaced it just to be sure. The temp adjust function can only adjust the temp 35 degrees. I'm thinking it needs a control board, but just wanted to get a second opinion. Thanks!

If your bake element works (gets red hot) and you have already replaced the temp sensor about all that is left is for the control board to be bad.

The only other thing I would check before ordering the part would be were the power cord attaches to the stove. Make sure the nuts that hold the cord on are tight. Sometimes I run into newer stoves that have had all parts replaced and it still don't work. I'm sent out there and find the problem was with the power cord being loose.

Thanks; I figure it is the control board. The bake element does get red hot. The oven goes through the pre-heat cycle, and beeps when it gets to the set temp. But the actual temp in the oven is 100 degrees less. I'll double check all the connections, and if they are okay, then a board will be my next step.

Is it actually having cooking issues? Or are you reading temperture with a mechanical thermometer hanging/sitting on the oven rack. They are notoriously inaccurate.
