Doing Maytag Factory work I always changed the unit as a whole as it wasn't cost effective in trips back ,gas cost ETC. I learned to ALWAYS use Factory parts.(for liability reasons) Always take the time to diagnose properly the first time. A happy customer is a returning customer. That being said, no call backs is a lot better than wasting time and parts. Then losing a customer because they feel you aren't competent when you keep coming back for the same problem.
