My Frigidaire
LEQ6400FS0 Affinity electric dryer is acting up. If I put it on the Normal cycle on High heat it will run for 5 minutes and then go into AD mode and run for 5 minutes more and then stop and flash Err. When I retrieved the code from it, i got e5b. This indicates a heater fault error (no heating).
Here's what the manual says about it:
Position cycle selector to NORMAL, temperature selector to HIGH HEAT
and touch START. Measure voltage across terminals on relay RL2 (heater
relay) on electronic control. If meter reads 240V on electric models and
120V on gas models, replace electronic control. If meter reads zero, remove
power from dryer. Disconnect wire going to NO terminal on the relay RL2.
Reconnect power and measure voltage drop between terminal COM on
relay RL2 and neutral. If meter reads zero, wire between incoming line and
relay RL2 is open. If meter reads 120V, check the rest of the heater circuit.
I did step one and the voltage reading was 0.
I'm not sure what they want me to do in step 2. When they say disconnect power and reconnect power, they're talking about plugging the unit into the wall, right? I could use some more detailed description of how to test this thing after step one.
Some notes: I have tried unplugging the unit for a few minutes and then restarting. I've tried flipping the breaker in my service panel. I've cleaned the lint out of the trap and the exhaust hose. I've tried other cycles/settings.
Thanks,
Chuck
