Frigidaire dryer belt
« on: February 22, 2011, 07:20:30 PM »
So I am trying to replace the belt on my Frigidaire LEQ6000ES2 dryer. It's a front-loader. I have already taken the top off and removed the old frayed belt. However, I don't know how to put new one on. Do I need to remove the back? The front? I just can't see how to get the belt over the drum. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

You have to remove the front panel and slip the belt around the drum.
Then you remove the belt access panel in the rear to attach the belt to the motor pulley and tension roller.

We took the top off and took the 4 screws off the top of the front, and looked down the side but it looks like it's pop riveted. It doesn't look like the whole front can come off - it almost looks welded at the bottom.

Any suggestions?

ok, we got the front panel off and popped open the top of the front part. looks like we can lift the drum and get the new belt around it.
Thanks for the tip. Will buy new belt tomorrow and go from there...
