LG Washer Leaking

Model # WM2455HG, this front load washer began leaking for the customer large amounts of water, so the customer panicked and shut off the unit and both water supply lines. After a quick look, I found the sump access port was not completely closed allowing water to flow out all over the place. LG has provided this access because the primary problem with front load washers is people leaving things in the pant pockets and those items eventually make it down to the pump and cause a draining problem, or damages the pump if left unattended. Unfortunately for the customer, they never read the user guide outlining this nice feature. If your washer has an access port, clean it out every so often and your machine will thank you for it.
