I was going to tell you how much I wanted this Fluke because I just became a DIY'er, but after reading all of the other replies, I think you should give it to Don S. (reply 24, I believe). His reply struck a chord with me, because it reminded me of my dad and how many quality tools he lost while helping others. I don't know Don S. but I believe his reply was true and I would like to think he is making someone very happy with a quality meter like the Fluke.

Besides needing a digital multimeter, I'd like to see for myself whether the chorus of complaints about Fluke quality having deteriorated by being made in China are true.

I had a fluke meter that i used for my HVAC classes when I started working it was stolen from a job site.  I am impressed with the quality of fluke products and I need a new one for my position as a maintenance technician with Riverstone residential.  I would use it a lot when working with water heaters and troubleshooting appliances.  Thanks for considering me for this great product. :)

I started my appliance repair business a little over a year ago, as you can imagine start up cost for tools can kill you. My old Fluke 72 which was around 10 years old when I got it, and that was over 20 years ago has finally had all the SMOKE escape from it. I have lowered my standards and bought a cheap Amprobe VOM at the local Parts house to keep me going. A brand new Fluke 113 Multimeter would be an excellent addition to my business tools, not to say a big boost to my outcome on life, happiness and the everlasting pursuit of free enterprise.

I used to use several different Fluke multimeters working for the military.  My personal one doesn't compare - super cheap.  I could definitely use this one!

Fluke makes an excellent meter, i use a fluke 87 everyday but sometimes for simple electrical tests it is to much meter, the fluke 113 is a better fit for every day use.

As the Service Manager of an HVAC service and installation company I utilize a multi-meter on a daily basis. While I have Fluke, Amprobe, and UEI meters I have always preferred the Fluke. Had a model 12 that I used for years before it bought the farm. I cna always use a new meter especially a well priced meter which this appears to be. As we train new employees in house they often need to "borrow" my tools :'(, this normally leads to lead and meter damage. :tickedoff:!
Why should I win this meter? Because of knowledge, my ability to utilize the meter properly without injury to myself or others lowers the liability risk of the giver :2funny:

I see that the 113 can simultaneously ck voltage or continuity - should come in handy when I'm checking float switches.

I stated earlier i use a fluke 87 meter everyday this is also a meter for every day use,but also a great meter for the beginner who can learn to trust a quality meter instead of a cheap knockoff.

I am still using my Knight Kit multimeter (model # KG 681) that I assembled sometime around 1970.  This would be a nice update to have!
