Slurp Kit
« on: February 03, 2011, 10:09:03 AM »
I bought this Slurp kit for one of my customers to find out the instruction sheet excluded models made from 2000 to 2001.
Is there a different kit to include these years for the refrigerator referenced above?

Model ed25qfxhb02
Take a Kid fishing.

Explain the problem in other terms and I will search the service bulletins for you. I'm unfamiliar with the term "slurp kit."

Ah! So this is a replacement for the freezer door tubing run?
Also, a quick explanation of the issue, thanks.

It is a vacuum device that "slurps" the water back into the little holder preventing the drip drip problem.
My problem is that the tech info with the kit excludes my year model.

You just unsnap the dispenser frame off, underneath the bottom frame you will see 2 slots, just take a flathead screwdriver and pop that plastic frame off, then you can get good access to it.

You may have to take #15 off as well:

#10 is your water dispenser tubing spout.

Then undo the union connector behind your kickplate grille, then pull up the tubing from the front dispenser, after you remove the #22 screw that holds it in at the top.

Then when installing this new one, push the new tubing down through the channel hole that the old one was in, then just get something small to fish up in the bottom of your door channel, like a stubby screwdriver or pocket screwdriver and push the tubing down, or have someone help you push it down while you fish it through the bottom.

Don't worry, I changed lots of these and never even came close to breaking the line half way through the door when pull it out from the front dispenser.
