Thanks. I got it back on. Used a slightly different technique, but I didn't need a third hand. I put the spring at the bottom, but took a small screwdriver and put it through the eyelet of the metal ring (left eyelet so I could expand the spring to the right) and held the screwdriver with my left hand, knee against the spring holding it in place. Pulled the metal ring with my right hand so the spring expanded and placed it in the groove and ran my right index finger around the boot/ring while keeping the spring expanded with my left hand. Ran it around to the until it was fully in the groove everywhere. Kind of had to roll it in place at the last section, kind of like putting the bead back onto a bike tire rim (but this was a little more difficult). Took a couple of attempts, but I finally got it.
