dishwasher control panel buttons

One of the membrane buttons is falling apart.  Switch still operates, but the outer membrand is just cracking off.  One button now, more to follow??

This is about 15 months old, so beyond the warranty, but it seems like a part like that should not croak in a year.   Only person to ever use it is my wife, and she is the gentle type.    Any chance whirlpool would pony up a panel for me?     I looked on repair clinic, they don't even list that part.   On 1st sources servallcity, they list a number W10164390 but that part does not seem to be available anywhere.   Any tips at all??    Machine color is stainless steel.

Try calling Whirlpool first and complain about it.

I called whirlpool but was not persuasive!   I asked if the part was recalled, and can I expect to have to buy a $100 part every year or so...but they were not moved!
