use the wrong detergent for LG washer/dryer in one
« on: January 20, 2011, 04:27:40 PM »
OK I used the wrong detergent so now my machine (WM3431HW) is malfunctioning.  The tech told me just keep running the machine so the suds will go away but i have been running it for days now and still i can't dry.  How do you get rid of the suds?

Add some olive oil, or vegetable oil, or instant coffee creamer (the powder stuff)  just add a little bit of one of those.  No more then a few ounces should do the trick  O0

Any of that will dissolve any suds that are built up in either your washer, or dishwasher.

Always use HE Soap
They sell different concentrates that you should know about

1.  Regular HE soap = 2 tablespoons max -> all load size's
2.  2x HE soap   =   1 tablespoon max -> all load size's
3.  3x  HE soap  =   1 teaspoon max  -> all load size's

Make sure that you use warm or hot washes every now and again,  The hotter the water the cleaner the clothes, and the washer

If you insist on doing all cold water washes, buy a cold water wash detergent designed to dissolve into cold water better.

Run a washer cleaner threw your washer once a month if you have well water, or once every three months if your on city.  1 quart of white vinegar can be used to clean your washing machine.  To do so, run a hot water wash without clothes, and a long cycle. Add the vinegar equally to the soap, bleach, and softener compartments to be sure you are cleaning the machine entirely threw-out the cycle. Or you can buy Tide washer cleaner or Afresh washer cleaner.
