I haven't had to chisel one off in a long time. I first attempt to remove it from the inside. I don't force it too hard so I don't break the hub. If unsuccessful, I pull the lint housing and attack it from the back. I have some big channel locks, put the handle ends down into the fins. I use a pipe for leverage and twist the blower clockwise until it breaks free. I haven't had to chisel off a single one off since I started using this method.
