Relay-Start Capacitor-replacement
«
on:
February 16, 2011, 06:37:02 PM »
I have a customer with a fridge and the relay/cap needed to be replaced- I installed one of those 3 in one universal relay/capacitor devices as a temporary measure, but I'd like to get the proper parts in there. Are these a commonly stocked item at appliance parts stores or should I be figuring on ordering one online?
Thanks

yes, but there does not appear to be a start capacitor included in the kit.

I got
AP3885081
. Do they intentionally supply parts that don't match the part numbers they call for depending on the compressor model number? After guessing the combination relay and overload and it did not start the compressor, I just reinstalled the 3 in one relay/start capacitor and it works fine now.

Your common and L1 wires may have been crossed.
Common goes to the overload.
