BOSCh shx57c05uc/21 Dishwasher will not run.

The unit is about 5 years old and worked without issue until recently. Our household is only 2 people so it is not heavily used.
The unit was on last night, we usually run it at night when we sleep.  This morning the dishes were still dirty yet steam rose from the unit when I opened the door.  I cleaned out the filters in the bottom and attempted to restart the unit.  The lights come on (including the floor light) but when I close the door it does not run.  I can hear a faint noise (sort of hum) but nothing happens.  There is a small amount of water (about 8 ounces) in the trap in the bottom of the unit.
 
Any ideas?

I bet you have something stuck in your drain pump...  I have only worked on a few of these.  But from what you are describing, I bet thats it.

To warn you, they are, lets say, Intresting to take apart.

Maybe one of our other techs can get you a service manual.

To gain access to the drain pump, the power must be turned off to the machine, Disconnected from the cabinet and slid out.  You gain access threw the left side of the unit, by removing the outside side panel.  The drain pump is located in the front left corner mounted on the sump assy.

Could be the water level switch on the left side as well, I would think that if it was the drain pump it would have more than 8 oz and I have had a couple of these floats on the water level switch stick.
