I have a Frigidaire
FLC271HW0 Laundry Center about 15 years old.
Replaced a washer belt some years back. No other problems till now.
During the wash cycle all is fine until final spin. Motor spins its pulley but the belt just sits and burns.
Replaced destroyed belt with a new one and fired it up. Ran a full cycle with no clothes. All fine. During this cycle, I had the lid open and the lid switch depressed for observation. The lock even worked during spins.
Put a small load of clothes in and ran a cycle. Drained and spun through rinse. Then drained again ready for final rinse. Motor pulley running but the belt just sat still.
Here is what I have done so far:
Unplugged power. Removed the belt. Turn the tub by hand. Freely turns in spin direction but locked in agitate. I can manually turn the transmission in spin direction but locked in opposite direction. The pulley below the transmission will turn by hand but takes some doing. Almost impossible in clockwise direction.
I am open to suggestions. I will need another belt as this one already has developed about 6 small cracks in about a 2 inch span.
