Hi Everyone,
Hope everyone had a merry Christmas and a safe New Year!
I have Whirlpool Washer model #:
WTW5600SQ0, S/N: CU4531609, stand alone washer top opening. I have posted here with problems with the timer on the washer. The 1st timer went bad so I took it apart to fix it while I waited for one to arrive. The timer’s contacts (they actually look like a set of points that are operated but a plastic cam or push rods inside the timer housing) burnt closed and some of the plastic cams were melting. I filed the contacts and using needle nose pliers I kind of made a jury rigged fix on the cams.
I ran that for almost 6+ months and had a sock get stuck in the water pump. Before tearing the washer I stuck the new timer in and it did not help and then by taking the washer apart I found the sock in the pump. Anyway, left the new
timer in and it ran for 3+ months before the new timer went bad so I stuck my jury rigged timer back in & ran it for a long time. Well my 1st timer that I repaired finally went bad again so I took apart the new timer to repair it.
Has anyone else had their timers go bad on their washer that is like this one?? A Whirlpool Washer model #:

I am probably going to buy a new washer, how about some tips on a washer that will last longer that one month past warranty due dates?? Are the new LG front loaders any good??
Thanks again, Dave.
