water filter is freezing and bursting

The water filter located at the front lower left side of this Frigidaire EW23BC71I refrigerator is freezing up thus bursting at the filter housing. I got 2 refrigerators doing this. Is this a factory defect? Does any one have a # for W. C I?  I will check the www. I will see about getting set up to do authorized work. I use to be athorized years ago forW C I. I wonder if the narda form is still abused?
