Kenmore Elite refrigerator icemaker not working

The ice maker on this 2009 refrigerator stopped working and although I have a Sears warranty, they didn't show up after giving me an appointment 2 1/5 weeks ago and now say they won't be able to schedule a technician until Jan. 12.  I'll never buy from Sears again and will never get a warranty beyond what the manufacturer provides automatically.

If you know an easy way to repair this, please let me know with detailed instructions.

Could you tell us a bit more about what the ice maker is or is not doing?

For example is the ice maker not getting any water to it?
Maybe the ice maker is getting water, but not dumping the cubes out?

Are the cubes hollow?
Are the fingers that push the ice cubes out frozen in the ice?
