Whirlpool Duet Dryer No Heat . Ive tested Everything HELP!

OK OK  i know this is getting long ....

I managed to fix the damage to the motor my kid caused .. Put it back in .. ( temp not fullly back in ) just the wires  with the belt safty by passed and a and the thermator bypassed and the thermitor fuse bypassed ..

Turned it on and the motor is spinning .. check the relay at the electronic control board  read lead and black lead and was getting 240   checked each wire individually  one was getting 120 other 0 

So as reGus said that means the relay or contol board or both ... Correct

Yes, if the Relay (or Controller) was bad, you'd get 240 across the Red to Black, but that would also mean you should have 120 between Red and ground.. and 120 between Black and ground.

... and the Dryer is set to HEAT ?

The Relay could "click" but still have bad, pitted, burned, corroded, contacts...

Re checked .. 120 on black and 120 on read .. 240 on both ...

So this is definatly the board/relay .... I pick one up in the AM ...

HECK YA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  the new board did the trick !

SOooooo what have i learned .. if you check everything else then it must be the relay/board ... Dont waste time on the the centrifugal switch on on the motor . LOL

Seriously .... Thanx Regus .. Dont know how i brain farted on testing the relay circuit ... For Some reason i thought that if each wire had 120v and relay kicking then it must be good ... Never thought to check for 240 across the wires Urrg

Leson learned ...  i Pretty much know every inch ,switch,relay wire and screw on this model now ... If any one needs to know anything just let me know

I know this is an old thread but I am having this same issue. BUT i am not getting 240 across both wires together through the relay. I get 120 individualy to ground but together through the relay I get 100v

If your not getting the 240 across the board then thats your issue, part # 8557308

Sorry .. it has been a while .. I reread the old post ..You should be getting 120 at both red and and ground .. If your getting 240 across that means its bad ..  My mistake .it didnt make much sense to me back then either ..
