Timer cause dryer to not heat???

My timer does not advance and the dryer does not get hot. I tested all components on the back of the dryer with a multimeter and they tested good. The leads that connect the wires to the heating element and motor did not read anything on the multi which are the orange and blk/white wires. I know your probably reading this shaking your head bc I'm answering my own question but I just want to make sure b4 I drop the coin for a new timer. Please help!

Find your fat red wire from the heating element and remove it from the timer. Connect one lead of your meter there with an alligator clip. If you cannot get a reading from any other terminal on the timer then your timer is bad. Turn the timer to differing spots on the dial as you check it.

Yeah timer is definitely bad I'm just curious if it would trick the heating element into thinking it's stuck in cool down mode or something along those lines.
