whirpool gas dryer not heat
« on: December 19, 2010, 07:45:05 PM »
the dryer its not heating, i check a several items, I thought it was a  bad coil, i replace it both, i check signals and got voltages in both coil connectors, everything looks ok, the ignition its working, timer its running all the cycle,... I made a mistake and make a damage in the fuse, so i bypass it, this could be affecting to get the dryer working??

regards

Are you getting 120 volts from each element terminal OR are you getting 220 volts across both terminals at the same time?

Does the ignitor glow and shut off or just glow? If it just glows solid, your flame sensor may be fused.

I believe his is gas but not to thread jack but should you be getting 120/120 on each end of the coil?

the ignitor glow and shut off,  i got 120v signal in both coil connectors,
the 2 wire connector coil read 120v, intermittent

the other coil with 3 wires read 120v, but i don't remember the reading order, so i will check this again to be sure

thank you all

i got borrow a timer, from a similar dryer, so i try it, and make the same issue , i think the problem will be in the coils  valve  (not sure of the correct name)

the unit has a screw torx head, if i open it, its possible to "fix" this unit, ??,  may be some thing could be stuck?

Jos just swap them coil. That should fix it. Seem to me it would be a lot easier to put new coils on there than swap them timer out. My gosh you working too hard mon ami.

With the snow blocking your vent I imagine the restriction tripped the duct fuse killing power to the gas assembly. the duct fuse is mounted on the blower housing next to the control klixon

well finally  fix the dryer,

after replace coils, check timer, fuse ...   i open the gas valves ( not sure of correct name) the coils are on top,  so i open this unit and clean inside, take out gaskets, springs, and set back again, and works fine at the first start up

thank you all for your support

best regards
