35 sw h Lear Siegler custom aire wall heater

I am having an issue with this wall heater it started with having to move thermostat to 90 back to 0 about two times then it would fire up....replaced the thermostat and it worked fine for a while shut off gas supply for summer time. Today lit pilot but will not turn on even bypassed thermostat and nothing but pilot stays lit. Any suggestions? I will be posting a picture of heater parts so you can have a visual of it. Any checks i can do to determine the problem?

If it has a thermocouple or thermopile,the thermocouple or thermopile is bad or the gas valve is bad.

So if it's a thermo couple the pilot would stay light but the heater would not function?

That is a milli-volt system that uses a pilot generator. The whole shebang can be operated by a simple 2 wire wall thermostat. Your thermophile is weak. It is strong enough to hold open the safety pilot but not strong enough to operate the gas valve's operator solenoid.

Thanks JW i will see if i can locate one, Jump the thing actually works pretty well when needed it doesn't get much use though. The unit really doesn't look that bad i had to adjust quality of picture so the upload would not exceed 500mb. Will this be a part i can find on this site?

The only thing about these deals is can you mount it where the pilot is facing correct. Other than that it seems like a good deal. I used to buy 10 left hand ones and 10 right hand PG9s and 10  that pointed straight ahead. I would end up selling all of them before ordering more.

Glad to hear it is the picture and not the heater that is bad.
