I just purchased a dishwasher to replace one I had leaking and needing a new pump. Runs great, but the only problem is that a few parts of the rack is rusting. Most of the rusting areas occur at the end of the tines and I got some plastic repair caps and paint to fix these. The only problem is 2 of the tines are rusted and bending right by the base. Does anyone have some tips for repairing these 2? One thing I was thinking of doing was cutting the ends off a couple caps and using these to reconnect the tine. I'd prefer something more like a mini version of a PVC extender, something more solid then flexible.
