Maytag Atlantis Leaks water during spin

I noticed my clothes were very wet at the end of the wash and I know it was spinning...

Being the man I am I decided I was going to try and fix it myself.  I ran it again and noticed that it was leaking water during the spin.  It dribbles out but it's enough that it keeps the clothes wet.  After it completes you can run it again in just the spin cycle and it works fine as if there was only so much water in the system.  During the rinse it's like the valve doesn't shut off.  It only drains during the rinse and spin.  While it fills with water in the start it will stop and it doesn't leak while it's not working.

I like the washer and hope it's an easy fix...I just can't figure out what it is. Please help me out!

Where is the leak coming from?If your not sure remove the front and watch when it is running.

That to me seems to be a control problem.

The washer may spray water on the clothes during the final spin but it shouldn't last long if it is dripping a lot of water near the end of the spin cycle check the water valve with a voltage meter. During the last part of the spin cycle there shouldn't be 120v to the valve. If no voltage, your water valve may be faulty.

It leaks from the area where it sprays...it just dribbles water on them.  It doesn't always do it either as I've been watching it like a Hawk. 

I'm not 100% sure how to check the power going to it but I'll do some more research on it and go from there.   I hope it is just a faulty valve from water deposits over time or something.  I'm just a broke fireman and this is just in time for the holidays

Overtime water valves sometimes get deposits build up in them.May just not be closing all the way.

Had this same problem recently. Once it started to spin it would not pick up speed quick enough, overflowed over the side. Replaced pump, same thing. Believe it was a control issue like JW said, in the timer. Cant remember what I used off of it but it may have been the tranny that was bad or timer?
