Whirlpool Oven Control F2 E6 vs. F2 E1 errors

Quick diagnosis for the Whirlpool, Kitchenaid E6-F2 vs E1-F2 fail codes:

Based on our experience with many units exhibiting these errors, here's the prognosis:

F2 E6 is ALWAYS caused by a control board failure in our experience.
- usually along with intermittent blank display and 3 short beeps
- don't waste time and money on the keypad if this is your symptom

F2 E1 is ALMOST ALWAYS caused by a keypad failure, with some exceptions.

There is a lengthy list of part numbers that this applies to, some of which seem to be unavailable as new ... but there is still time for us to rebuild before TG!
