How to replace the interior light on the microwave ? *see model # below.

hello and thanks in advance for your help.

how can i replace the interior light on the microwave oven on a KitchenAid model KEMC 378K5501.

this is a one piece unit with the Oven on the bottom and the attached microwave on top.

the Microwave interior light needs to be replaced.

1. Remove screw from access cover on top left
wall of oven exterior. Remove access cover.
2. Remove old bulb and replace with new bulb.
3. Replace access cover and screw by reversing
procedure in step 1.

This is a tough one.  Remove the lower screws from the side trims.  Pull the trim out at the bottom and slide down. Remove the screws from the side of the console and remove the console by sliding up and out.  It's much easier to remove the console if you slide the whole oven forward a few inches and remove some of the top cover screws.  Remove the vent trim between the microwave and oven. Remove the two screws at the bottom of the microwave and slide the microwave forward.  If it doesn't slide there may be one or two screws holding it in the console area. Slide it about halfway out to get access to the light.  I'm going by memory so there might be a step or two I missed but you get the idea.
