If you have not checked the WHITE fuse it is located left of where you connect the dryer vent, underneath the thermostat.

i DID check the white (thermal) fuse.  and it's good.   i then removed the 300f ? (as indicated by JWWebster) which sounds like what you have also described to me towards the top of the silver duct and attached by 2 red wires.

is this correct ?  i shall check that as well.

thanks

Yes. Both fuses need to be checked.

If the fuse is good and the dryer won't run I suspect the Door Switch

ok... so... i checked the thermal fuse.. which is still good.

and i just checked this one (in photo) and it also is GOOD.

the scenario again : the dryer was on all night. in the morning, the dryer was still running. i stopped it.. and now will not start again.

could it really be the door switch ?  i am willing to check every possibility... but just wanted to restate the situation for clarity.

thanks as always for your expertise and help.

If all your safety's check good and your door switch is ok then you are down to the timer or the motor. Since it ran all night and the timer did not shut down you must need a timer. I would start there.

i have not checked the door switch.  do you think this is worth checking ?  the timer sounds like it should be the problem... as the motor was still running in the morning.

is the timer something i can check or do with my limited repair experience ?   or is it time to bring in a professional ?

thanks as always...

Sincerely,
Mr Dirty Clothes

The door switch Mr Dirty clothes is way cheaper than a timer and I always advise going with the cheapest parts first because i never gave refunds on electrical at my appliance parts store before I retired.

DRYER IS FIXED.

END RESULT... ONE OF THE FUSES HAD BLOWN IN THE WALL MOUNTED FUSEBOX DEDICATED TO THE DRYER.  MY DAD SUGGESTED I CHECK THAT.

THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE SUGGESTIONS... AND HELP.
