I own a GE Monogram built-in 48" refrigerator. Two years ago my repair people replaced the compressor with a kit that uses a Danfoss NF9.5FK compressor. The data sheet is here: http://www.ra.danfoss.com/TechnicalInfo/Literature/Manuals/06/NF95FK_R134a_115V_60Hz_07-03_Cg43w322.pdf
The starting relay which is part # 117U4141 is fried.

Maybe a power surge or lightning strike.

My appliance repair people say that they cannot order the starting relay anymore as it is no longer being made. So my only option is to replace the entire compressor!

I have looked but I cannot find anyone selling this starting relay part # 117U4141. Does anyone know where I can buy one?

Alternatively, I have been searching through the Danfoss spec sheets for this line of compressors to see if any other compressors they sell use this relay. See: http://www.ra.danfoss.com/TechnicalInfo/Literature/Manuals/06/compressors_r134a_r404a_115v_60hz_02-2007_pb400d422.pdf

It does not look like any other compressors use the exact same relay but there are ones that use similar relays. Can I use a different relay with this compressor or must it be the exact part number indicated? There is a guy selling a Danfoss FF8.5GX on ebay. Can I use the relay from that compressor on mine? Here is the data sheet on that one: http://de.refrignet.danfoss.com/TechnicalInfo/Literature/Manuals/06/FF85GX_R134a_115V_60Hz_07-03_Cd43d522.pdf

I am pretty desperate at this point. I don't want to spend the $$$ on either a new compressor or an entire new unit if I don't have to but I am being told that. What are my options? Your input and assistance is very much appreciated!!!

I have a bucket of them. Never been used. They go from 1/8th up to 1/4th. I will look for that number. If I have it it's yours.

Thank you so much!!!  In gratitude I have sent you two sixes of beer.  Enjoy!

I also PM'ed you my address and a FedEx number for you to use to send me the relay.  I guess the 1/5hp one is the best.  We have been almost 2 weeks without a working refrigerator so if you could overnight it to me tomorrow that would be great!  THANK YOU!!! O0 :D ;) ;D :)

For future reference here is some information on a 3n1 start relay.

Help need on installing 3 in 1 start kit on Crosley refrigerator

3 In 1 relay combo kit

Can A Supco 3-in-1 be used on Newer Refrigerators?

I always try to replace the start relays with the original one if I can and only use a 3 in 1 relay to get someone going until I can come back with the correct part.

Hope you find our site helpful.
