I own a GE Monogram built-in 48" refrigerator. Two years ago my repair people replaced the compressor with a kit that uses a Danfoss NF9.5FK compressor. The data sheet is here: http://www.ra.danfoss.com/TechnicalInfo/Literature/Manuals/06/NF95FK_R134a_115V_60Hz_07-03_Cg43w322.pdf
The starting relay which is part # 117U4141 is fried.
Maybe a power surge or lightning strike.
My appliance repair people say that they cannot order the starting relay anymore as it is no longer being made. So my only option is to replace the entire compressor!
I have looked but I cannot find anyone selling this starting relay part # 117U4141. Does anyone know where I can buy one?
Alternatively, I have been searching through the Danfoss spec sheets for this line of compressors to see if any other compressors they sell use this relay. See: http://www.ra.danfoss.com/TechnicalInfo/Literature/Manuals/06/compressors_r134a_r404a_115v_60hz_02-2007_pb400d422.pdf
It does not look like any other compressors use the exact same relay but there are ones that use similar relays. Can I use a different relay with this compressor or must it be the exact part number indicated? There is a guy selling a Danfoss FF8.5GX on ebay. Can I use the relay from that compressor on mine? Here is the data sheet on that one: http://de.refrignet.danfoss.com/TechnicalInfo/Literature/Manuals/06/FF85GX_R134a_115V_60Hz_07-03_Cd43d522.pdf
I am pretty desperate at this point. I don't want to spend the $$$ on either a new compressor or an entire new unit if I don't have to but I am being told that. What are my options? Your input and assistance is very much appreciated!!!
