Hi,
I need to plug the hole in my freezer that is there for an icemaker. Whoever had the fridge before me had had an icemaker installed, but they must have thrown out the little piece of foam(?) that goes in the hole.
As it is now, I have the little plastic cap that is inserted into the hole from the inside of the freezer, but nothing else.
The fridge has been running this way for quite a while. But from the outside of the freezer, one can see that ice has built up in the hole. I have what seems to be above average moisture in the freezer (ice crystals form on food rather quickly), and the unit seems to run more often than it should. I'm assuming that because this hole isn't sealed off properly, that this is what the problem is.
I'm not sure what part it is I need.
Here is one set of parts. I can't tell which part it is that I already have; and which one I need. I'm thinking that the one piece that I have (the inside plug) is part #18,
here.
And, so, I'm thinking that what I need is is part #8 from
this set of parts. It's the only thing that looks like it would be it. But the price on it is $14, which seems really high for a piece of foam, so I'm not sure if it's the right part, or what exactly.
Thanks for reading this.
