I recently purchased a house with the appliances included, and the washer and dryer are both Frigidaire Affinity series. Manufacture dates are 2006, and both are front load.
My problem is the washer will stop mid cycle, almost every time. Sometimes with 10 minutes left, sometimes with 1 minute left, and it just stays there, until I cancel it and then usually have to do a spin cycle because there is so much water left over and it needs to drain.
Googling led me to a
To resolve this issue, three jumpers have been added to the current motor controller board to reduce electrical noise levels around the microprocessor. Testing has proven this change to the board significantly reduces occurrence of control lock-up. The newist motor controller board assembly is Part Number 134149220. Wondering does the board need to be replaced or can these three jumpers be added to a board currently in. Also if anyone knows if Frigidaire covers this, as it seems like a design flaw to me.
Lastly if not, how would I go about replacing it myself. I`ve found what looks to be the correct service manual, but cannot find where to replace the motor controller board at. I`m a certified Electronics Tech and have work with CRT and other high voltage equipment, so hoping I can do this one myself with a little guidance.
Thanks
