GE Adora side by side, about 5 yrs top part of fridge warm, bottom part freezing

This is an intermittent problem, maybe a couple times a week and lasts for a few hrs or half a day or so.

The freezer gets warm
The top of the fridge gets warm
The bottom of the fridge starts to freeze

I am not a repair man .. but ... pretty handy and was hoping there was something I can look at.

Take a look at this: Similar late model manual
It may give an idea what to check. while waiting for a reply. GE is iffy about manuals.
