Dishwasher motor hums

Dishwasher hums, won't fill. Replaced motor, no fix. Could it be the board?

 Is it the motor that hums or the water fill valve? It could be a bad water fill valve.

I must not be understanding you correctly. You have a dishwasher that does not fill with water and you replaced the motor? Why would a bad motor have anything to do with the dishwasher not filling with water?

It fills with water, just hums. It will wash for 3-5 seconds then stops and hums for 3-4 minutes, then washes for 3-5 seconds and repeat.

I had a rough day that day. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm going back out there tomorrow to work on it again, see if I can come up with something.

Make sure you have strong wire connections at both the motor and the timer, if any are loose, it can create the motor to hum

Try replacing the motor start capacitor.
I have had several that had low capacitance values.
