No each had a different problem.  The first one's refrigeration just died...still had electricity.  They replaced a panel?? but it recurred. Then they replaced the refrigerator and the second one had cosmetic flaws...the water/ice dispenser was not set in properly and you could see the clips in the gaps around the insert and one side dimpled in. The doors were uneven; one was higher than the other.  The third one, which I have now, has mechanical problems as well...food in the freezer frosts over as well as the ice in the icemaker and water condenses on the doors of the refrigerator; food and anything open in the refrigerator has a "refrigerator" taste and water drips on the freezer drawer from I guess the ice dispenser.

I can testify at least some models of GE Profile fridges are Samsung, and some of the same caveats apply; intermittent/erratic behavior from their 'main' pc board (numerous IMO under rated relays for control) and simply unplugging a unit for a 'hard' reset (~5 minutes) can make them start making ice again, maintaining temp, normal defrost, etc.

But I'll echo Seals, sounds like a little TLC with a heat gun (to soften the seals) would have fixed two of those.

Cheers,
-Robert

He did the reset and it shut down again 2 days later.  We tried the reboot but it wouldn't come back on.  Then he replaced the circuit board or something and 2-3 days later it shut down again.  Obviously it's a problem with the mechanics and the repairman/men (as he called tech support) had no idea.

I am looking for another brand until they start making GE in the US (GE Chairman's office told me that this unit was made in China and that they will be making them in the US next year...sounds like they must have had lots of problems manufacturing in China.)

So any other recommendations of brands...sounds like a no to Samsung.  Whirlpool does not make a 28/29 cf and that's the size I am looking for.

I have checked the web site and called customer service and they do not show a 29 cf french door.  She did say one is coming out but couldn't give me any details or model number or when it was coming out.  Where did you get your info and is there a way I can get the specs?
