defrosting

I have a bottom mount basic fridge the element is good and the bi-metal is good, I assume the only thing left is the control board located in fridge section???, also ther is a thermister in the freezer section, that has nothing to do with the defrost circuit, right?   the unit will not defrost,   tks   JPG

on this machine, the thermistor is what cycles defrost, not the bi-metal, the bi-metal is a back up for a runaway thermistor.  I would change the board and thermistor.
