PLEASE HELP - Er dH Error from LG Frig

hello, We have a 3 door LG LFC2576044 frig and now the temp area is showing Er dH error.
The cooling is fine on both freezer and frig part.
When I unplug and wait, its goes back to normal.  Then the error happens again.  Hoping to fix myself. Hate to send a few hundred on this frig.

Your defrost heater has an issue.
Use this Factory Service manual to help you access the heater and thermostat for service or repair.

thank you..by the manual it states :
CODE- Failure of defrost mode
CONTENTS- When defrost sensor doesn’t reach 8°C within 2 hours after starting defrost.
REMARKS-Snapping of defrost heater or Temperature fuse, pullout of connector (indicated minimum 2 hours after failure occurs)

Does this mean that my defrost control assembly is broken or either the defrost sensor or FUSE-M?
3-3 DEFROST CONTROL ASSEMBLY
Defrost Control assembly consists of Defrost Sensor and FUSE–M.
The Defrost Sensor works to defrost automatically. It is attached to the metal side of the Evaporator and senses its
temperature. At 72°C, it turns the Defrost Heater off.
Fuse-M is a safety device for preventing over-heating of the Heater when defrosting.
1. Pull out the grille assembly. (Figure 6)
2. Separate the connector with the Defrost Control
assembly and replace the Defrost Control assembly
after cutting the Tie Wrap. (Figure 7)

PS- this there a TEST MODE where I can get more details on this issue? Sorry for so many questions...

Mostly what it means is that you access these parts and use your VOM set for ohms and determine which part(s) are bad.

At 72°C, it turns the Defrost Heater off.

At 160 degrees farenheit I would hope it turns off.

When defrost sensor doesn’t reach 8°C within 2 hours after starting defrost your heater OR your heater thermostat is dead. Check the heater for continuity. If it is ok then replace the heater thermostat. If the heater is Bad replace both the heater and heater thermostat. Why? Because both items are of the same age and when one fails the other is not far behind, AND it eliminates back calls AND it is difficult to get in there in the first place and do the job so why not replace it while you are in there right now.

Thank you for the reply. I will be taking apart and examining.  I think it may be the sensor (controller assembly) since all areas in the freezer and frig are getting cold and the ice maker is still making Ice. 
Hopefully it is the sensor portion, since it looks to be $15.25.
Any other input would be great appreciated!
