a few little notes on the direct spark ignition.
1 - make sure the outlet is correctly wired. I had several of these that will not work because of incorrect wiring (hot and neutral reversed, no ground, etc.) get yourself a 5 dollar outlet tester with the lights. Also make sure that the burner tube is properly connected to ground. I had one where mounting screws rusted and I didn't have a good ground. Installed slightly larger, stainless screws that dug in better and BAM, it took right off.
2 - check valve. If no continuity on all three terminals, valve bad.
3 - spark board could be bad or ERC. I usually carry both and just swap to test, but you can test to see where the problem is.
One thing for sure, these suckers are definately finnickey! Easiest way is to have all parts (burner tube, valve and spark board) and quickest.
