Admirable drier won't heat

Greetings

My drier turns but won't heat. I found a post from May 2009 with an image of a Roper drier that looks exactly like my Admiral. I removed the high limit sensor from the top left of the heater housing and it is open. The fuse from the exhaust shows zero ohms. I am assuming that the thermal fuse is good and the high limit sensor is bad. I tried to bash it per the 2009 post without success. I'll know tomorrow when I replace the part, but any advice will be appreciated.

Sounds like you have already found the problem, congrats!

From what you have posted it sounds like you will be looking for part # 279816.

Notice the part comes with both the upper and lower limit thermostats that are mounted to the left side of your heating element.

Make sure you use both new limit thermostats in the kit. If you replace just the upper one that is bad without replacing the lower one too the new part may fail again.

Also make sure your dryer vent is clean. I would also remove the fan housing and make sure it is clean. Sometimes the fan housing will pack with lint.
