Noisy LG LW1210ER 12,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner

After the unit (LW1210ER) runs for 10-15 min I hear soft on/off  humming sound coming from the unit. It almost sounds like a TV is on in another room in the house and you cant quite hear what its playing. Its very subtle

It only makes these noises when the compressor is on. Do I have a bearing going in the unit?

Maybe you ain't got it level or you need to adjust the way it sits in the window.

It not a noise like it's vibrating it's more like a rubbing noise.

sometimes lifting up a hair on one side or the other cuts out the rubbing noises

I pulled the unit and placed it in another window that has an identical 12,000 unit in it. I'm still hearing the same noises. I put the 12,000 that doesn't have an issue in the  original window and it's fine. I thought maybe it was the window/machine not being level but it's not.


The noise does not appear unless the unit is on cool or dry. When its on fan only no sounds at all??

Perhaps the compressor still has some shipping foam around it that should have been removed when the unit was installed. If the compressor is bolted down, loosening the nuts stops the noise and vibrations.
