Home Depot Scholorship

Back in April I put in for a scholorship from Home Depot that is for construction related trades.  If any of you know anyone going to school for a construction related trade, and they do consider Appliance repair a construction related trade, Have them put in for it, its $500 to $1000. It wont be available again until about March or April 2011.

Last week I got mine and it was $500 for tuition and a $500 gift card for tools and supplies

I dropped the $500 check off at school to help Trade Act pay for fall quarter, I then went to Home Depot and bought the tools Ive been waiting to get. $500 bucks goes quick when your tool shopping.

Im thankful to Home Depot for the scholorship but I have some suggestions, Please add Fluke, Picquic, Imperial and Yellow Jacket to your tool department.

Congrats on the scholarship.  Wasn't aware the Depot did that.   I am pleased that they give back to the community in that way.

Since the Depot is primarily homeowner-oriented, their tool selection slants that way.   hand tools and such, they have decent offerings, and I am sure many professional tradesmen shop there.     Things like meters and such, they will tend to the lower price brands like Sperry.    There is nothing wrong with those, but soemtimes a pro just does need to invest in top-of-the line tools to get the features and performance he needs.     The internet is a good source for such items.
