Maytag Washer seal question

Just replaced the bearings on my Neptune...  Have a couple questions about the seals.  The kit came with 2 different style seals.  I put one back on similar to the one I removed (called the "old style" in the instruction sheet).  Fit perfectly and all.  However, the kit also came with an O-ring.  I installed it per the instructions.  However, my washer did not originally have an O-ring on it.  Any issues going to come from this???

On the bag it says...

I don't think you will have any issues from installing that o-ring.
