A tail of 3 dryer
« on: August 13, 2010, 05:50:46 PM »
My buddy Larry and me got busy working on some dryers today. We fixed 2 out of 3 and that ain't bad. The one we could not fix had a bad timer. Today was restring day. We had  GE newer model, an old westinghouse dryer and a Maytag dryer built on a speed queen style platform.

Note the picture in the middle is the maytag dryer we didn't fix. It has a bad timer. I have it in the yard. Larry is gonna bring another one like it tomorrow and we are gonna try and make a good dryer out of 2 bad ones.

Their is no need to spend a bunch of money buying a pan. Just get the restring kit. Take your time. If you leave huge gaps in the coil you will get a hot spot and the element will not last long. Be sure to remove as much lint as you can. Lint on coils cause hotspots and element failure.

Just got through frying up a mess of fish, hushpuppys, kranklekuts, and okra. Gonna add some of my homemade coleslaw I did yesterday.  O0
Note: Larry paid a guy $8 for the old Westinghouse dryer. He figures he can sell it for $75

We got a great big subdivision coming in behind me. A covered boat slip and swamp access. It don't get no better than that:
