kenmore washer will not turn on

Hello all,

Hope You guys can help me.

Bought a kenmore washer a few years ago, it worked perfectly, until a couple of weeks ago. for some unknown reason. It will NOT turn on anymore. pulled the dial, and nothing. no water flowing, nothing. don't have funds to pay for sears to come out and repair, hoping to do this myself. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Might be the water valve did you try it on hot, warm, and cold settings?

I tried all three, hot, warm and cold...nada....

Check your timer connection. It might be loose.

thank you sir....what does a timer connection look like? will take apart washer during the day tomorrow...

A big plastic plug goes into the timer to the various functions of the machine. Inside the timer is a barrel with humps in it. As the timer motor advances the humps open and close contact points points. Sometimes this plug slips out the timer a little. Look for corrosion too.
