Maytag top load washer is overflowing

My washer overlfows regardless of the setting you put it on.  Is there a sensor that may have gone bad?

Their is a water level switch. It has a rubber tubing attached to it. That tube has got to be airtight and the tub must be clear of sediment. Air must be allowed to pressurize the switch so that it will shut off the flow. Make sure the tubing is clear of obstructions and secured tightly to that switch
