agitator cam kit

i'm replacing the dog ears on my agitator so i bought the kit.
FSP part# 3363663 is the cam the dogs slide into. FSP# 3363661(bearing/washer) is the black retaining ring that slides up over the cam.

does the black ring slide up flush against the slots where the dog ears are or does the black ring slide up the opposite way? when i look at the diagram on parts pro that black ring diagram#21 seems to be upside down!

the black ring has the FSP part# stamped on it. i assume that side slides up against the slots the dog ears are in thereby making a flush fit. the opposite way the black ring would stand proud which appears wrong even though parts pro diagram shows it in that orientation.

The black ring should slide up flush so it holds the dogs in place.

The diagram does seem to show it flipped around the wrong way.
